TFA announces a season of new partnerships and geographical expansion for 2010-2011.
From the world premiere of Jennifer L. Nelson's 24, 7, 365 in partnership with Tribute Productions, to a look back at TFA's relationship to the Federal Theatre archives housed at George Mason's Fenwick Library, to a national conference at the end of the year sponsored by the Dramatists Guild of America, TFA will bring its work and its mission to new audiences, in new venues.
We are pleased to be performing in the Lang Theatre at DC's Atlas Performing Arts Center in February, as well as the newly-opened Hylton Performing Arts Center on George Mason's Manassas campus in March and April. We bring it all back home to our Fairfax audiences with shows in both the Harris Theater and the Center for the Arts Concert Hall. Our conference will take place throughout the Mason/Fairfax Center for the Arts complex and will fully utilize the new Mason Inn Hotel Conference Center.
This fall, TFA returns to both the Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage festival, as well as Fall for the Book, both in September. In addition to 24, 7, 365, TFA will present Live Wire as part of Mason's Great Performances and Hylton Presents series, with material drawn from the Radio Division of the Federal Theatre Project of the 1930's. Our 11th annual First Light Discovery Program of new play development and presentation continues TFA's tradition of fostering new voices for the American theater. Both First Light, and our conference, entitled Playwrights in Mind: A National Conversation, are scheduled as concurrent events in June.
See you at the show.
